Preventing Yard to Yard Contamination
If dog poop is so bad, how can we insure that no diseases are spread from one yard to another?
First of all, we are trained professionals, so we know what to look out for and what to avoid making any contamination much less likely. But we always treat each visit as if we have walked through a biohazard dump.
Each Dog Poop Tech travels with a portable pressure washer loaded with a high concentration of chlorine bleach and a disinfectant deodorizer.
Each tech wears company regulation white rubber boots so shoe clean up is simplified and effective and any fecal matter is easily spotted.
Many companies allow standard footwear and as you know, if you ever stepped in dog poop, getting dog poop off shoes is not an easy task even with a pressure washer.
The only way we can insure that surfaces are clean is a generous rinse delivered under very high pressure along with chlorine that will kill all bacteria and parasites.
Tools used in the clean up are treated with the same care, hands are washed and all other surfaces are sanitized.
You will find other companies using a bottle of spray cleaner and a wash rag to wipe down tools and shoes, if they do anything at all, but in our bacterial testing those procedures do not work and will endanger your dogs heath.
We have adopted practices that are used in industrial food facilities, slaughter houses and other facilities that have high levels of bacteria, raw food, salmonella, ecoli and waste that need to be cleaned daily or their products will be unsafe.
When a pooper scooper is wearing a pair of sneakers or hiking boots in your yard, that is a serious problem and contaminants will be transferred from one yard to another.
Proper foot wear is a must as well as the effective cleaning of that footwear.
We also always try to use steel, stainless steel and plastic tools when possible so there are never any porous surfaces that can carry animal waste or bacteria.
Another precaution we use is latex gloves when handing anything that has been in direct contact with any type of animal waste to avoid the Tech from absorbing contaminants into their blood and becoming contagious to other dogs.
We have created a process, provide the equipment and training to our dog poop techs so they can insure no biohazards are every carried from one yard to the next.
In most cases, dog poop is deposited in the customers trash but in cases where the waste is removed from the property and carried through the route, it is double bagged and sealed into a biohazard canister where is is safely stored until the end of the day when it can be disposed of properly.
Dog poop techs are also concerned about carrying flea, tick, lice and mites from one yard to the next or from one dog to another and therefor will always start the day by spaying all clothing and exposed skin surfaces with flea and tick repellent which prevents fleas or other critter from traveling on them. It also prevents any flea bites which can be uncomfortable, painful as well as passing diseases and even parasites to the human host.
So chemical sprays are applied for everyone's protection.
All of these seemingly insignificant safeguards add up to a full regiment to insure the safety of your pet.
We take this business very seriously and have created the safety protocol unlike any other service as well as processes that make our service superior to all of our competitors.
We are able to do it more efficiently, cheaper and provide a higher level of service.
Our techs are less likely to transfer any germs, parasites or bacteria from one yard to the next and in fact, your dog is at greater risk walking down the street than from our techs servicing your yard.
Don't use unlicensed, uninsured pooper scooper hacks that put your dog at risk. Make sure you choose a licensed professional company with a good safety program and disinfectant protocols in place.
